Wine of the Week – Pomegranate Zinfandel

In keeping with our summer splash during this very hot summer, our feature wine this week is  Pomegranate Zinfandel.

This wine is one of our summer Island Mist series if your looking for a cool, lighthearted wine that is easy to drink for all age groups. The fruit of the Pomegranate has been cultivated since ancient times in South China, Asia, North India and the Himalayas.

The name pomegranate means: seeded apple and the rich juices are made into juice or grenadine syrup and used  as medicine in some cultures. Pomegranates contain high amounts of vitamin C, B5, potassium and natural flavonoids.

This is a wonderfully refreshing wine, for the summer blended with the earthy tones of the Pomegranate fruit and uses the rich juices of the Zinfandel grape.  We just tasted this wine days ago, for one of our customers and it came out beautifully from the very first sip.

The Pomegranate Zinfandel has a sweet and spice unique flavor not often found in store bought wines.

Serve with: BBQ sausage on a bun, light salad lunches, grilled pizza and other light meals.
